I sometimes focus on the wrong stuff

Have you noticed that when you focus on the things you don’t want, it’s a downward spiral?



Have you noticed that when you focus on the things you don’t want, it’s a downward spiral?

We get what we focus on.

Let’s test it out.

DON’T think about a delicious cup of hot chocolate!.....

NOW I GUARANTEE you are thinking of that delicious cup of hot chocolate!

You can’t tell your brain not to do things. It interprets everything you think as a positive thought.

So if you say, “I don’t want to fail this test” your bran focuses on the ‘fail’ and because it doesn’t do negatives, the thought becomes, “I want to fail.”

When you focus on the negative and say what you can’t do, your brain will give you more of what you can’t do and you’ll never achieve your goals in your life and career.

You MUST focus on your desired outcome instead.

If you’ve heard yourself say things like….

I feel stuck in my career

I’m never gonna make it!

What if I fail…?

I’ll never be as good as that.

I can’t do it.

You must switch your internal dialogue to focus on what you want instead, then positive results will start to appear. The key is to be consistent.
