The Secret To Confidence

Have you ever considered a career change, stepping into a new area in the same industry, or trying entrepreneurship?

Have you ever considered a career change, stepping into a new area in the same industry, or trying entrepreneurship?

What stopped you from taking the leap?

For some of you the barrier to change was LACK of CONFIDENCE.

The negative voice in your head saying, “How am I supposed to be confident in a new job when I haven’t done it before?”

Our confidence is actually rooted in how we perceive ourselves.

I had a client who had been promoted. He came to me because he had less confidence in his abilities because he was working in an area he had no experience in.

Confidence is a feeling you get when you feel you have everything you need to fulfill a given job role or skill.

But is this realistic?

One of the well-talked about ways of handling this is ‘Acting as if’ you are already confident.

This is a useful step in the right direction……but one of the BEST ways to be truly confident is by becoming comfortable with failure.

When we fail at a task or lack confidence due to lack of experience, we can ask ourselves, “What does this mean?”

When we answer this question in ‘the positive’ we become resourceful, learn and grow.

It could be “I need more knowledge.” “I can communicate better.” “I can learn from others.”

Become comfortable with failing so you can act without fear.
